Hello

I am Kevin Daniels, the creator of this web site.

I started cycling in 2007, cycling regularly for enjoyment and exercise. I found, as many other cyclists do,  that when I started this new activity there were  many fears and inhibitions to overcome.

To help others new to cycling, I lead rides aimed at encouraging these new cyclists  to ride with confidence.

It is often a lack  of knowledge that leads to outcomes such as avoidance of cycling when it is entirely possible to ride or, unfortunately, riding when it is not suitable and having an accident. The impact of an accident can last a long time and put people off cycling all together.

So the ability to make informed choices is very important. One such area is cycling in winter conditions when accurate weather forecasts are essential, especially to avoid ice. On the other hand there are many winter days when commuting and leisure cycling is entirely possible with all the associated health benefits.

This web site concentrates on significant improvements that can be made to forecasting ice which is a major factor in winter cycling. It is an evidence based site with full references to source data.

I am passionate about helping bring cycling to the widest possible number of people
