4 Government policy

 

The Government Cycling and Walking Investment Strategy issued on 21 April  2017

 

• outlines the government’s ambition to make cycling and walking a natural choice for shorter journeys, or as part of longer journeys by 2040 and

• sets out the objectives and the aims and target that the Government will work towards in the shorter term

 

One of the stated ambitions is ‘better safety’.
